Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
A new federal law requires manufacturers to include a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, otherwise known as your TPMS, in all vehicles from 2008 on. Although, some 2006 and 2007 models also have this system.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System is a dashboard mounted warning light that goes off if one or more of your tires falls 25% below the manufacturer’s pressure recommendations.
When a flat tire is repaired, new ones are installed, or sets are swapped, resetting of the TPMS is required. Your service technician will remove your sensors and reinstall them to ensure they are working properly.
